Collection: McHank

McHank has been working as an illustrator since 1991.

His work has been used for fliers, posters, shirts and music videos by bands including Sloe, Menomena, Molly McGuire, Hotel St George, Bob Nanna, Inch, Fever Sleeves, No Knife, Rats Eyes, Joey Cape, The Switch, Hialeah, White Murder, No Use For a Name, The Plot to Blow Up The Eiffel Tower, Clay Wheels, Sleep, Nasal Sex, Jonny Manak and the Depressives, Earthless, Pumphouse, Miss New Buddha, Creepseed, Big Bad Buffalo and countless others.

He creates artwork for One Week Records (a record label he conceived with Joey Cape of Lagwagon) and Re-Animated Records, a record shop in the San Diego area.

He has been involved with making zines since 1993, beginning with “Punt!”, and since 2003,
“Perpetually Twelve”- including his most well received issue, featuring groundbreaking original long-form interviews and self portraits from the band Fugazi.

He is also the sole creator and illustrator for “Finish This Zine.”

McHank has been the illustrator of five books including “Loser Makes Good” by Greg Gerding and “An Electric Sheep Jumps to Greener Pasture” by Tyler Atwood- both of which had the honor of being the number one selling book at Powell’s City of Books in Portland, Oregon.

McHank continues to create for bands, authors and his zine, and teaches drawing, painting, linocut printmaking, and zine making.
