Collection: Therese Buchmiller

Therese Buchmiller is an award-winning visual artist and educator whose illustration has appeared on greeting cards, gift wrap, and one very successful marriage proposal. Whether she’s working in drawing, collage, or installation, her curiosity for categorizing continues to be a driving force. Buchmiller received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago while perfecting her knowledge of the Chicago Dog, and her MFA from the California College of the Arts, where she was on a constant extracurricular search for the best burrito and the flattest biking terrain. She has shown her work in numerous solo exhibitions and group shows throughout the US and Internationally. Her work is in several public and private collections in the US, even a few fancy ones like the Walker Art Center Book Archive. When she wasn’t trying to locate something among the horizontal strata of collected accumulation in her studio, Buchmiller dedicated quite a lot of time teaching art to children, college students and adults. She lives in Washington state with her amazing spouse, a loud yet delightful child whom she’s constantly running after, and a serene painting of a dog named PJ.
