About Erase Covid
WHO ARE WE? We’re a community of artists and designers that all wanted to use what we do to help others in our creative community. Most, if not all, have done a lot of work with musicians: making their album packaging, concert posters, websites, and merchandise. We’ve worked with artists like The Replacements, Social Distortion, The Aquabats, the Shins, Death Cab for Cutie, the Hold Steady, and so many more. We pretty much live and breathe art and music. So when we had a chance to help other artists and musicians, it all made sense. We found a printer (Graphic Business Solutions) that could handle the production and shipping side and maintain the website, and a charity partner to give to (the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund), and we kept making art.
WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT? An opportunity for artists to make great public safety-themed art that gives back to the creative community, and get paid for their work. So many of our friends who are artists, designers, musicians, road crew, etc. just had their livelihoods wiped out for months and months. So a fund set up to provide direct help seemed like a perfect fit. All profits from items on this site are split evenly between the artists, the printer, and our charity partner, MusiCares.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? We’re artists. We create. We care. We give back. When this Coronavirus thing hit we started making compelling public safety and COVID-19 related art to remind us all to be safe. Wash your hands and check your facts. Keep your distance and don’t touch your face! We made art about public safety that we’d want to see.
MORE WHY ARE WE DOING THIS: We also wanted it to give back to our creative community. So we found partners to make that happen. We do the designs. Our printer makes and ships things with our work on it. And MusiCares has a COVID-19 Relief Fund to help artists and musicians with direct assistance.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Share the images. Post them on your social networks. Buy greeting cards and send them out. Buy posters and put them around your town, your office, anywhere people will see them. And share our site and social links with anyone you can. Sharing these images could literally save lives. Artists and musicians have always been there for us. Now we can be there for them.
